Every Pair of FishGillz Sunglasses is Individually Made By Hand.
The production begins with a pelletizing process where polymer material is heated and hand-injected into our molds. Color pigment is then added and the material is mixed, re-heated and poured into a cast-iron template.
After the frames are injected, they are cooled in water where they set and harden. Next, the frames and temples are hand sanded with an emery cloth to remove all surface imperfections.
The frames and temples are sent to a finishing station, where they are sprayed with the final color coat. After they have dried, a clear coat is applied. The clear coat that FishGillz uses is treated with a UV resistant additive which provides a salt water, fade resistant barrier that is important for adding long life and durability to the frames.

Next the glasses move on to assembly, where the lenses are hand fitted to the frames. The lenses on FishGillz sunglasses are cut using a state-of-the-art self-guided laser. This lasering process ensures distortion free, unsurpassed optical clarity and perfect lens fitment. After the lenses are cut, anti-scratch and anti-fog coatings are applied using a hand dipped process. After the lenses are fitted into the frames, the temples are attached and hand-torque adjusted to insure proper tension.
Following this, the glasses move on to the final stagewhere they pass through quality control and undergo a complete evaluation to ensure that there are no defects.The frames are then hand-polished using a special blend of carnauba waxes and poly coatings, which gives them a high-gloss finish.
